From day one. Protect it.

Like any other purchase, us as individuals always want to take care of anything when we buy new. We want to keep it in the perfect condition as it was when we first bought it. Leather cream, depending on branding and where the leather is sourced, should be used as soon as it brought home. This add’s protection, repels stains and protects surface from wear and tear.

Make use of your DUST BAG.

Typically many bags, in particular designer handbags will come with a bag protector/dust bag. This dust bag should or can be used rather than just shoving all your bags in a draw together. This can prevent from dust, wear and tear, and accidental scuffs. Use of a pillowcase is recommended if you don’t have a dust bag.

Clean your bag.

No matter how old or how new. Remember to always clean your bag. Whether it is just a quick wipe-down, a damp cloth is enough. Though it is recommended every 2-3 months to use a specialist cleaning product. This will allow your bag to be in the best condition possible.

NEVER use anything other than water and leather cleaners.

Typically using products such as vinegar, baby wipes and “home remedies” will have chemicals that cause dryness and colour loss.

Shape it.

It can annoying, though very rewarding to stuff your bag to keeps its shape. Use anything, including clothes and bubble wrap or tissue paper.

Keep the lid’s on.

And as we all aware, every girl is going to have a range of random though useful random belongings in her bag. Always keep lid’s on to prevent any leaks

.

Quicks facts from Leather Satchel.

- Leather will lose moisture and oils. Throughout this process the leather will dry and leather fibres could break rather than stretch.

- The more consumers use their bags, the faster wear and tear will happen.

TO AVOID WEAR & TEAR = MOISTURISE.
